We recommend running one 2-liter transporter bag of water through the Traveler Filter prior to its first use. Applying a small amount of positive pressure to the bag to remove air from the filter will help purge air and get the flow going. This filter can be used inline or to back-feed. It’s ideal for travel, filtering tap water in foreign countries, hotel rooms, or campsites.

This filter is NOT recommended for backcountry use. While it will work for a short time in those environments, silt and tannins from creeks and ponds will slow the filter down. For the backcountry we recommend the Katadyn BeFree filter bundle.
